Jesus claimed to be the source of both when he proclaimed, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:25). Without Christ, there is no resurrection and no hope of eternal life.
Jesus gives His life to those who put their trust in Him, enabling us to share in His victory over death (1 John 5:11–12). Because we have the life Jesus gives, we have conquered death, and those of us who believe in Jesus Christ will personally experience resurrection. There is no way for death to triumph (1 Corinthians 15:53–57).

For every believer, the resurrection represents a triumphant and joyful victory. According to the Scriptures, Jesus Christ died, was buried, and resurrected on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
And He is returning! Those who are alive at Christ’s return will be transformed and receive new, glorified bodies. The dead in Christ will also be raised to life (1 Thessalonians 4:13–18). Why is Jesus Christ’s resurrection significant? It demonstrates who Jesus is. It proves that God accepted Jesus’ offering made in our place.
It demonstrates that God has the capability to bring us back to life. It ensures that people who place their faith in Christ will experience the resurrection of their bodies to life forever.
RESURRECTION POWER (Philippians 3:7-11)
In the Bible, several people are raised from the grave. In the Old testament, Elijah performed one such miracle. At least three persons were raised during Jesus’ ministry.
The resurrection of Jesus is not in any way a given or assumed fact, as we have been stating throughout this series. The early disciples found it difficult to accept the idea that one man could rise from the dead (and never die again).
One of the most compelling arguments for the reality of the resurrection is this skepticism. Nobody found this return from the dead to be simple.
But how was Jesus’ resurrection distinct from those of Lazarus and the others who have been revived? What impact did Jesus’ resurrection have?
(1) The Risen Christ manifesting His present and future glory in us is the true meaning of resurrection power (Philippians 3:10-11)
Paul emphasizes one facet of “the power of His resurrection” in this passage from Philippians 3: He longs to “know Him” (Philippians 3:10). Knowing the power of resurrection is possible. In reality, Paul wants to do this. Why does this matter? Today, when we talk about power, we hardly ever relate it to knowledge. We consider it to be something we go through.
But understanding who God is is valued highly in the old testament and new testament. According to Jeremiah 9:23–24, it doesn’t matter how intelligent, wise, or wealthy you are. Knowing the God who upholds unwavering love, justice, and righteousness on earth is something to be proud of.
In the old testament, God advises the people that if they wish to be proud or joyful about anything, it should be that they are aware of God, and that awareness leads to God’s delight.Jesus stated that knowing God and the one whom God sent, Jesus, is what gives one eternal life (John 17:3). In Philippians 3, Paul is merely restating what the Bible has already said. But if we’re being completely honest, a lot of us are curious about Him and the significance of His resurrection. Paul is not saying this at all! Paul’s words imply an encounter. It is necessary to encounter resurrection power.
Paul claims that this ability typically manifests in times of suffering (Philippians 3:10b). Paul somehow translates the life of Jesus into his own (Philippians 3:11). Or perhaps he is interpreting his life into Jesus’. He compares his present life to what Jesus went through. How will it act? Paul hopes to resemble Christ via his suffering.
You see, we can only understand the same force of resurrection if we have gone through the same type of death. Or, to put it another way, if you’re still alive, you can’t understand the power of resurrection.
Paul captures the sentiment of the Christian in 2 Corinthians 4:16–5:4, who desires to follow God here on earth but struggles due to a heart, body, and flesh that constantly reminds him that he is still in a fallen world.
He refers to this condition as “groaning” and anticipates the day when he will cast off his earthly life and don the resurrection life. He is stating that “what is mortal may be swallowed up by life,” meaning that we are not leaving this world only to be naked (2 Corinthians 5:4).
The action of God in the afterlife, which penetrates into our present and unites us with Him, is known as resurrection power.
A chunk of earth entered heaven for the first time ever as Jesus ascended after being risen. However, when Jesus was raised from the dead, there was also a small portion of heaven here on earth. Jesus united the two worlds.
Power of resurrection is at work in us right now. We experience it as a result of our newfound rebirth as well as through the pains we endure. In his letter to the Ephesians (Ephessians 1:16–20), Paul prayed for the Christians with the same kind of strength.
All of us would find this uncomfortable. We have faith that Jesus will again be risen from the grave because we are aware of the power of resurrection.
what about right now? We’ll have to work to see. However, Paul, who was writing from a jail cell, speaks of a current resurrection force that may be felt in his current situation right now.
(2) Knowing and Valuating the risen Christ above all: the Man (and Woman) experiencing Resurection Power (Philippians 3:7-8)
Philippians 3:7 contains Paul’s argument for why Christ is more valuable than everything else. Anything and everything that is not Christ is useless and unimportant. He calls it “dung” or garbage. Instead, he views Christ as having “surpassing worth” and makes an effort to win Christ over.
He is referring to the tremendous, immeasurable value that he places on Jesus and everything that Jesus is. To have it, he would do anything! What was once significant and valuable, he now counts for nothing.
Paul is making efforts to get to know and value Jesus. He uses Christ centered logic to analyze his history, present, and future.
He is requesting more of Jesus, and when he receives it, all other things vanish. You must first comprehend the exceeding worth of Jesus in order to comprehend everything as loss and useless, as dung.
The universe, with all its wisdom, does not act in this way! Although we talk about Christ in our churches today, perhaps we don’t often talk about Him as a treasure. We would do well to take into account how Paul and the author of the hymn “Be Thou My Vision” describe Christ:
Be my vision, O Lord of my heart; Nothing else matters to me but the fact that thou art – Thou my best thought, by day or by night; Waking or sleeping, thy presence is my light.
Riches and empty praise are not something I pay attention to. You are my inheritance right now and forever. You are my treasure, High King of Heaven.
Do you fit that description? Would you be able to agree with Paul that everything is useless since you know who Jesus is, what He is like, and what He has accomplished?
Would you be willing to give up everything both your good deeds and your sins in order to obtain Jesus? Why does Jesus appear to be so blurry in our vision? Why does it just last for 20 minutes following an excellent lecture before going away? Because it hasn’t yet arrived home.
There will come a day when only Christ will fill our hearts with yearning.
(3) Through Faith, In Union With The Risen Christ, Are The Ways Of Resurrection Power (Philippians 3:9)
What does a daily walk with Christ look like? What are we supposed to actively seek? Paul refers to his relationship with Christ as being “found in Him.” This belief, known by Christians as the doctrine of union with Christ, signifies the Christian’s union with Christ.
1. I experienced everything that happened to Jesus.
2. Jesus receives the same things that happen to me.
3. I shall experience everything that happens to Jesus.
The tenses used in the preceding sentences matter. It discusses our present, history, and future.
Paul has the following because of this access:
1. Not possessing a righteousness that is mine and is derived from the law (Philippians 3:9b)
2. However, that which is brought about through trust in Christ (Philippians 3:9c)
3. God’s righteousness, which is based on trust (Philippians 3:9c)
We become a part of Him once we possess that righteousness from Him.
Living a Christian life involves more than merely giving up doing bad things and only doing good ones. That is the rule. The Christian life is a summons to put an end to wrongdoing and to my good deeds since I am completely dead. Or, to put it another way, it is gathering up all of our sins and good deeds and running to Christ.
Anything inside of us that isn’t Christ should be put to death. Christ should be our only desire. This implies that we must give up our aspirations to be good Christians in our Churches and the society at large.
We must kill every aspect of ourselves that is not Christ. Every day, we die to ourselves and place our faith in Jesus. He grants us a righteousness that is not our own when we do it.
What would it look like if everyone left saying they wanted more of Christ, more of Calvary, more of being raised in newness of life, more of having His heart? That will resemble the risen Christ making known to us both the present and the future glories of Christ.
This alters the way we pray, both our piety and our sins will be confessed. While requesting that He live through us, we set aside our best intentions. Every minute, we’ll be looking for Him to be present in us. What will a heart that is reliant on His grace that wants only Him and none of us look like?
These seven verses from the Bible demonstrate that you have power through the Resurrection of Jesus Christ
1. Acts 1:8 declares:
You will have power after the Holy Spirit has descended upon you. You will then serve as witnesses.

It’s time to shout! You have access to the same Resurrection Power that brought Jesus back from the dead.
7. Romans 8:11 reads:
You are possessed by the Spirit of the One who raised Jesus from the grave. As a result, the same God who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies. His Spirit, who resides within you, will enable him to accomplish this.
If you’re not using God’s power, Matthew 22:29, according to the New International Version, offers the solution.
You are wrong because you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God, Jesus said in response.
One more verse
According to the New Living Translation of Isaiah 40:29,
He “gives strength to the powerless and strength to the weak.”
