In Christ Alone

In Christ Alone

Should you dedicate your time to selfless acts of religion? to improve yourself so that God will accept you?

You might be shocked to learn that none of those items will work not only In Christ Alone. But in the Bible, God makes it quite clear how we might know Him.

The concepts listed below will describe how you can individually start a relationship with God right now in Christ alone.

In order for those of you who put their faith in the Son of God to know that you have eternal life, I am writing these things to you. 1 John 5:13

God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ deserve praise. Through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, he has, in his great kindness, given us new life into a living hope and an inheritance that will never fade, spoil, or expire. You are protected by God’s power through your faith until the arrival of the salvation that is prepared to be revealed in the end time, and this inheritance is kept in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:3-4

We were spared because of this optimism. However, hope that is visible is false hope. Who wishes for something they already possess? But if we hope for something that we do not now have, we patiently wait for it. The Spirit also supports us when we are weak. Although we are unsure of what to pray for, the Spirit himself speaks for us by groaning without words. And because the Spirit intercedes on behalf of God’s people in line with God’s will, he who examines our hearts also understands the thoughts of the Spirit. And we are aware that God always acts in the best interests of those who love him and are chosen in accordance with his purpose.

God also predestined those he foreknew to conform to the likeness of his Son in order for him to be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And in addition to calling and justifying those he called, he also praised those he justified. Romans 8:24–30

We can physically get sick without hope. Heartsick. sick to our souls and minds. Discouragement, sadness, and hopelessness are possible outcomes of this illness. However, where do we find hope? How do we search for it? How can we acquire it? How can the hope of Christ permeate our minds and hearts? We could be aware in our minds that our only source of hope is found in Christ… But how do we convince our hearts to follow?

“You’ll discover that having hope is a skill that requires practice.

God’s Love

God provided His one and only Son because He loved the world and wanted to grant eternal (in Christ alone) life to anyone who would believe in Him.

Hope requires work. With hope comes faith. Hope is an effort. Our vocabulary must include active words like hope. Hope is an active emotion. Hope does not show up at our door. Hope needs to be welcomed. We must embrace hope. Hope needs to be exercised.

What I mean by “practicing hope” may be unclear to you, which is a reasonable concern. We may be proactive and intentional in bringing hope and joy into our lives, which may sound strange or be something you’ve never thought about.

God’s Plan

I came so people could have life, and that life would be abundant (full and significant), as Christ said. 2

Why aren’t the majority of people living bountiful lives? In Christ Alone!

We Are Sinful

All people have sinned and are lacking in the glory of God.

God intended for us to have a close relationship with him, but because of our obstinate independence, our relationship with him was severed. This self-will is a manifestation of what the Bible calls sin, which is defined by an attitude of active resistance or quiet indifference.

We Are Separated

Death (spiritual separation from God) is the price of sin. In Christ Alone

This illustration shows that while God is holy, humanity are wicked. We are divided by a wide chasm. The arrows show how we constantly try to approach God and the abundant life on our own, whether through a virtuous life, a sound philosophy, or religion, yet we always fall short.

In Our Place, He Died

God shows us His own love by sending Christ to die for us even while we were still sinners.

He Awakened from the Dead.

Jesus died to atone for our sins. He was interred. According to the Bible, he was raised on the third day. Peter was the first to see him before the Twelve. Following then, He appeared to more than 500 people.

He is the only way to reach God

No one enters the Father except through Me, said Jesus, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

Using His Son, Jesus Christ, to suffer on the cross in our place to atone for our sins, God was able to close the gap separating us from Him.

We Have to Accept Christ

Even to those who believe in His name, He granted the opportunity to become children of God to those who received Him.

In Christ Alone

I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Nobody enters the Father except through Me. (John 14:6)

In a visite to Nashville for a Keith and Kristyn Getty worship conference. Their song “In Christ Alone” is possibly the most well-known. This is one of the Reformation’s central tenets, along with a confession of “by faith alone,” “by grace alone,” and “by the Scripture alone,” as we approach the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. Let’s investigate this further.

John 14:6 makes a strong declaration. It is one of the seven “I AM” declarations found in the gospel of John. This may have been spoken by Jesus with less vehemence. It actually says, “I, I AM.” This unquestionably conveys the sense of I alone. The very phrase disallows any alternative path, truth, or manner of living. Second, it brings to mind Exodus 3:14, where God tells Moses, in response to Moses’ question about Who He is, “I AM that I AM.” Making this claim, then, compares Jesus to the Yahweh who appeared to Moses at the burning bush and talked to him. Jesus is thus equal to God in this regard.

Both the predicate and the “I AM” are emphatic. Three words that are employed as adjectives reveal something about Jesus. The definite article “the” is utilized by each of them. There is no “way” for the Father in Jesus. He is the one and only “way.” The conjunction “and” joins the three nouns together. Despite attempts by others to render “the real and living path” as “life” and “way,” and places all three nouns on a same footing. But I believe this undermines the assertion. In the prologue of John, Jesus is portrayed as having “life in Him.” Later on, he adds that the Father gave Jesus the ability to “have life in Himself.”Later on, he adds that the Father gave Jesus the ability to “have life in Himself.” The source of all other life is Him. Jesus is also the only source of “the truth. Other claims might be accurate or true, but only Jesus is “the truth.”

Conclusion

The proposition is concluded with the statement, “No one approaches the Father except through Me.” So this claim is three times more powerful. No other interpretation is possible. This interpretation’s accuracy is determined by how true it is overall. This statement is either wholly true or wholly false. Here, there is no room for compromise. Either John is an apostle or a heretic.

This claim about Jesus is made repeatedly throughout the Gospel of John. In another I AM declaration, Jesus refers to Himself as the entrance to the flock of sheep. Everyone else who tries to enter through a different route is a thief or a robber. He refers to himself as the vine in John 15 that sustains the branches and makes them bear fruit. The exclusivity of Jesus. Mohammed, Buddha, or even Moses have no place. Moses received his instructions from Jesus on the Mount.

In this case, I do want to affirm a trinitarian viewpoint. The Father and the Holy Spirit are present in addition to the Son. In Matthew 28, the coordinating conjunction “and” is used to connect the names of the “Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” in a manner similar to what we saw in John 14:6. The Godhead’s three parts are put on an equal footing by this use of the conjunction.

The First John epistle supports the notion that Jesus is unique to the Christian faith. He declares, “He who has the Son has also the Father.” He claims that “He who does not hold to the Son does NOT have the Father,” in comparison. Without acknowledging who Jesus is, you simply cannot call yourself a Christian or even a follower of the one and only real God.

In his final sermon, Jesus explains the function of the Holy Spirit to the disciples and to us as well. He is equally God with the Father and the Son, but His function is inferior to that of Jesus in that He serves as a reminder of what Jesus said and a guide to “all truth.” And because Jesus is the center of all truth, the Holy Spirit’s job is to guide us to Jesus. This path has been chosen. Some people could think that Jesus is given too much credit at the expense of the Father. There seems to be some discomfort about Jesus even in Evangelical settings.

Jesus has been diminished in order for the Father to be given more glory. Some even put the Holy Spirit ahead of Jesus. However, this is blatant heresy. Who are we to disobey God by undermining Jesus if God has granted Him such a lofty privilege? The prior claim that the one having the Son has the Father also serves to imply that we are still fully confirming the Father when we exalt the Son—even though we could make an excessive amount of claims about Jesus, which we cannot. We just cannot do enough to honor the name of Jesus. It is incorrect to refer to someone as a “Son” without also confirming the Father’s existence. You also affirm the Father when you affirm the Son.

Christ’s words] I am knocking at the door, and if anyone answers the door when they hear My voice, I will enter to speak with them.

Receiving Christ is turning from ourselves to God (repentance) and trusting that Christ will enter our life to take away our sins and transform us into the people He desires us to be. It is insufficient to only acknowledge intellectually that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died on the cross to atone for your sins. Additionally, having an emotional experience is insufficient. Jesus Christ is received through faith, which is an act of the will.
